Homesteaders Circle Community Guidelines

Homesteaders Circle exists to help adults build genuine relationships, friendships, and homesteading connections.

Participation requires respect for other members, their privacy, and their boundaries.

Be honest

Represent yourself accurately. Do not:

Impersonate another person
Create deceptive profiles
Misrepresent your identity or intentions
Use someone else’s photos without permission

Respect connection intentions

Dating, friendship, Homestead Connections, and Skill Swaps are different kinds of relationships.

Respect the connection type another member has chosen.

A friendship request is not permission to turn the interaction into unwanted romantic or sexual communication.

Respect boundaries

Stop contacting a member when they indicate they are not interested. Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, pressure, or repeatedly contact another member after a connection has ended.

No hate or discrimination

Content or behavior attacking people based on protected personal characteristics is not permitted.

No sexual harassment or explicit unsolicited content

Do not send unwanted sexual messages, explicit material, or sexual requests.

No scams or financial exploitation

Do not use Homesteaders Circle to:

Request money from members
Conduct romance scams
Solicit investments
Misrepresent financial emergencies
Collect banking or financial information
Promote fraudulent opportunities

Protect privacy

Do not publish or distribute another person’s:

Home address
Exact location
Phone number
Email
Financial information
Private messages

without permission.

Adults only

Homesteaders Circle is for adults 18 years of age or older. Suspected underage accounts should be reported immediately.

Skill sharing responsibly

Homesteading knowledge varies widely.

Members are responsible for evaluating advice before acting on it, particularly information involving animals, equipment, construction, food safety, firearms, medical issues, chemicals, electrical work, or other potentially hazardous activities.

A member’s experience should not be treated as a professional credential unless independently verified.

Keep connections personal

Homesteaders Circle is intended primarily for genuine personal and community connections. Spam, mass solicitation, unrelated advertising, deceptive promotion, or repeated commercial outreach is not permitted.

Meeting safely

When meeting another member for the first time:

Consider meeting in a public place
Tell someone you trust where you are going
Arrange your own transportation
Avoid sharing your exact home address too early
Trust your judgment if something feels wrong

Reporting violations

Use Report Member inside Homesteaders Circle when appropriate.

Reports may be reviewed by authorized moderators. Reporters are not identified to the reported member through the normal member experience.

Enforcement

Depending on the circumstances, Homesteaders Circle may:

Issue a warning
Hide or remove profile content
Temporarily suspend an account
Permanently ban an account
Take other reasonable steps to protect members and the service

Repeated violations may result in stronger action.
